7 Storytime Tips for Grown-Ups.

7 Storytime Tips for Grown-ups
  1. Make it a Routine
Create a cozy reading spot and set a regular time for stories - it helps kids know when it's "book time."

  2. Let Them Interrupt
It's okay if they stop the story to ask questions or talk about the pictures - that's how their brains grow!

  3. Try Different Voices
Silly voices, barking like a dog, or making sound effects? YES, PLEASE! Drama makes the story stick.

  4. Let Them "Read" to You
Encourage them to retell the story, even if they're just making it up. It builds confidence and comprehension.

  5. Keep a Book Basket
Put 4-5 books in a basket and rotate them weekly. Too many choices can be overwhelming - this keeps things fresh!

  6. Bring the Book to Life
Act it out, draw a favorite scene, or go on a "dog walk" like the book character did.

  7. Ask Open-Ended Questions
Skip yes/no - try, "Why do you think that happened?" or "What would you do instead?"

Remember: Every story needs a good snack break!
